The Fairfax Jubil-Aires and Bella Nova Chorus are returning to Capital One Hall for a celebration of the magic of a cappella harmony in the barbershop style and the power of song in this expansive performance: Why DO We Sing? For what happens when people raise their voices together—friendships are formed, generations connect, communities grow stronger, and audiences become part of the experience.

The Jubil-Aires is a 70-member mixed voice chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Chartered in 1953 in Fairfax, Virginia, the group has a deep history in the region, participating in community performances, youth programs, and holiday events in the Virginia and DC Metro area. International medalists Bella Nova Chorus is an inclusive women’s chapter of Harmony, Incorporated, whose mission is “focused on bringing joy to our lives and the lives of others through song.” A large part of that joy is building skills in the craft and art of barbershop harmony singing and taking those skills to the competition stage.

The two choruses will be joined on stage by the Westfield High School Chamber Singers (an auditioned ensemble led by the talented Katie Pierce), a number of accomplished quartets, and a special guest appearance by acclaimed National Symphony Orchestra violinist Peter Haase.
