Retro is a culturally outdated or aged style, trend, mode, or fashion, from the overall post-modern past, that has since that time become functionally or superficially the norm once again. Does that mean we are once again hip! Well, the Retro quartet features 4 fun guys from the past, dressed in clothes from the past, singing songs from the past, and having a great time in the present. If you are looking for something that has "become functionally or superficially the norm once again," this is the quartet for you.
After their formation in 2012, this seniors quartet was off to the races, chasing their youth. Bass Pat Varre brings his 50 years of barbershopping experience to the quartet, having sung in at least 40 quartets over the years. (He says he was 5 when he started singing barbershop!) Art Medici, crooner extraordinaire, brings his own special style to singing lead; retired Air Force pilot Phil Merkel floats in with his pretty tenor; and Cliff Shoemaker tries to mop up whatever notes are missing to put them back into the blend. Already the quartet is performing for audiences, bringing smiles to faces and joy to hearts, as they share this special style of American music.
This is truly "Made in America!"
