World Singing Day
SING WITH US ON OCTOBER 18, 2025
World Singing Day is a global sing-along held annually on the 3rd Saturday in October.
As a catalyst for positive human connections, this one day each year serves as an opportunity to celebrate our global family through the international language of music.
We are the Fairfax Jubil-Aires, an a cappella singing group based in Northern Virginia.

HOW WILL I LEARN THE SONG?
Music and learning tracks will be provided. During the first rehearsal (October 1) we will practice in sectionals, where each part will separately work on learning their part. In later rehearsals, we will work on performance skills and blending our parts together.
DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO READ MUSIC?
The ability to read music is helpful but not required. Sheet music is provided, but you can also practice by listening to the learning tracks as you watch the music and then singing along with your part (which will be predominant and on the left speaker) repeatedly until you can turn the left speaker off and sing along with the other three parts (which are on the right speaker) without any help. This system really does work.
DO I NEED TO COME TO ALL REHEARSALS?
The first rehearsal is the most important, as we will practice parts individually in sectionals. We recommend attending all three rehearsal. As a guest you only need to stay for the first 45 minutes (practicing the World Singing Day song, All of Us. The rest of the rehearsal will cover the Jubil-Aires broader repertoire, and of course you are welcome to stay for that as well.
WHAT ARE THE SINGING LESSONS ON OCTOBER 18?
We provide a unique opportunity to work with Debra Lynn (@DebraLynnBelCanto) in a workshop from 10 am to 2 pm (with a break for lunch). Debra will teach the Bel Canto breathing techniques that are the basis for creating ease, ring, and clarity in your singing voice. We will continue to practice our song, All of Us, from 2-4 pm and will record the song for submission to the World Singing Day website. (https://worldsingingday.org/)
