Yikes Stripes! Men-in-Stripes (MiS) barbershop quartet is all about entertaining a cappella singing fun! Registered as a quartet in April 2011, Roger, Aaron, John, & Fred perform at parties, picnics, wineries, bars, & bar mitzvahs, including a local production of “Bye Bye Birdie.” The lady with the funny bowtie is the very talented Ms Olivia Brassingram, who joined MiS in November of 2012.

Roger Lemieux (Tenor) is the high voice. A Jubil-Aire since 2001, Roger sang Lead in “RingQuest” for 6 years, and sings backup tenor for several quartets, most recently “Special Blend.” He was a cantor and sang in his church choir. He sung in local productions of “It Takes a Shoemaker” and “Phantom of the Country Opera.” Roger loves to sing four-part harmony!

Aaron Watts (Lead) is the handsome guy that sings the melody. He is an independent Navy Science and Technology consultant, U.S. Naval Academy information officer, and a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) high school scholarship judge for the Office of Naval Research Naval Science Awards Program.

Olivia Brassingram (Soloist) is a dramatic singer-actor who has agreed to sing SOME songs in the barbershop style. When not trick-or-treating, roller blading, or getting straight A’s at Rachel Carson middle school, Rockin’ Olivia will knock your socks off with a stylistic interpretation of harmony favorites like “Lida Rose” and “Gonna Build a Mountain.”

John Knueven (Bass) is the low voice. He sang bass in “Ring Quest” for 6 years, is a certified director, and is an assistant director for the Jubil-Aires. He has sung in and directed numerous church choirs, and was the front-line director of the Culpepper Chorus. John is happily retired.

Fred Geldon (Baritone) sings the notes no one else wants. He played Will Parker in “Oklahoma!” with the Grape Hollow Players, and had a cameo role as “John S. Manville” in the Justice Dept’s presentation of “The Great White Dust.” He is an attorney with the Steptoe & Johnson law firm in D.C. and teaches at GMU.
