Lancaster contest

The Mid-Atlantic District Contest was held in Lancaster, PA on October 2, 2010.  What a magnificent week-end in such a beautiful setting!

.

After qualifying at the Southern Division contest in 2010, the Jubil-Aires were on to the District Competition in Lancaster, PA.  Such a wonderful venue, and what a marvelous week-end with so many excellent choruses and quartets competing to go to the International Convention in Philadelphia to compete over the July 4, 2011 weekend.

The Jubil-Aires sang two songs: Paper Doll and Let's Go To The Movies.  This contest featured the debut of our new director, Richard Lewellen, and we look forward to continued improvement as we strive to become the best performance and entertainment chorus that we can be.

After the final competition on Saturday evening, the Jubil-Aires hosted an outstanding "Parade of Quartets" Afterglow party in one of the ballrooms.  The hotel was magnificent in providing a stage with a microphone and a lecturn with a microphone off to the side, so that quartets could be announced and could perform on the raised stage with an excellent sound system in the room.  Along with a cash bar, pizza, chips and pretzels were served, and people were able to sit around large round tables in an almost nightclub environment.  With our banner proudly displayed behind the quartets that came across the stage, it was a great way to finish off a fun weekend.  Watch the photo album for pictures from the weekend, and watch the video section for clips of the quartets and other groups that visited us that night.
